If you are looking for a quiet location in which to kiteboard/kitesurf, then Rivedoux is the place for you. Situated between the Ile de Re and the bridge, the town of Rivedoux offers two great beaches for kiteboarding. The North Rivedoux beach is sheltered by a sandbank. The South Rivedoux beach is a popular launch area. The North Rivedoux beach has a sheltered bay with a good prevailing wind direction coming from the north-west. The small beach is great for beginners and offers a nice launching area.
The water is flat and perfect for beginners. It works well with north-west, south-west and easterly winds. The sandy beach is a great spot for freestyle and has an open area onto the ocean. However, you should be aware of the strength of the Pride d'Ars current - it can lead you offshore at ebb tide.

Kiteboarding is allowed outside of a swimming zone, but lifeguards are friendly and willing to help if necessary.

The area is home to over 600 km of coastline and is renowned for its excellent wind-surfing conditions. L'Almanarre is one of the best locations in France for windsurfing, and the Camargue Regional Park is a fantastic place to go camping and surfing. If you're a beginner, Saint-Laurent-du-Var is a great place to start.

You can also visit the nearby La Madrague beach, which is less crowded and less wavy. The beaches are separated by a small lane, which allows you to travel along the length of the beach.
